SCHOOL DINNERS
School dinners are provided by City Catering. The meals provided are cooked offsite. Meals are nutritious and healthy. City Catering staff are responsible for preparation, health and safety, serving and cleaning up. All our meals are halal, no pork dishes are served at our school.
The price for meals are set by City Catering at £2.50 per meal.

We are required to report the numbers of pupils having a school dinner by 9.00am to City Catering so they can prepare on a daily base accordingly.
Supervision of pupils is provided by the school to meet health and safety requirements. Our pupils have their meals in the school hall.

Nut free school
At Charnwood Primary School we strive to provide a safe learning environment for all students. Due to some of our pupils suffering with nut allergies which are life threatening, we are a NUT FREE SCHOOL.
Since this condition can be life threatening, we are asking all members of the school community for their help in minimising the risk of these children. It is important that all parents implement the suggested measures in order to reduce the risk of allergic reaction to these children:
- Not giving children nuts or nut products in their packed lunch
- Not giving nuts or nut products or snacks/bars containing nuts for break time snacks.
- Not supplying the school cakes or food items containing nuts for birthdays celebrations, sales or events
We understand that you may want to send in a treat for your child to share when it is their birthday. If you would like to do this we would recommend sending items such as a book for the class to share, enjoy and keep. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we are currently unable to hand out food items or gifts to children.
